Support your Downtown Neighbors

Last year, volunteers served nearly 22,000 hours at the Food Bank and helped distribute more than 950,000 pounds of food. Come in on your own or with friends or co-workers;  we’d love to have your help working to end hunger in downtown Seattle.

Volunteer opportunities include preparing the distribution line and assisting shoppers with food, organizing our warehouse, collecting donated food from Market vendors and farmers markets, and delivering groceries to our homebound shoppers. So please wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes when you come in!


Signing Up

We accept volunteers weekdays 9am-3pm and until 6pm on Wednesdays.


On Your Own

Individual volunteers can come in and get started with an orientation Mondays at 10:30am and Wednesdays at 10:30am or 3pm.

With A Group

Sign up for a work, school, or group volunteer shift here. 

Once you sign up for a spot, you will get an email confirmation and then all you need to do is show up!

Large Group Projects

Groups larger than 25, please inquire about special accommodations at volunteers@pmsc-dtfb.org.

Skill-Based Volunteering

We’d love to have volunteers with the following skills:

  • Bilingual, especially in Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Spanish, Russian and Arabic
  • Data Entry/ Management
  • Microsoft Office
